OUR DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM

Health&Healing is a free-distribution publication, published six times each year—typically in January, March, May, July, September, and November—and distribution to hundreds of sites throughout the Greater Triangle area. Approximately half of the copies of the publication are distributed within five working days of printing; the remaining copies are used to restock high-traffic distribution sites; a small number of subscribers receive copies by mail.

The Whole Foods grocery stores—featuring natural, organic products—are major distribution sites for Health&Healing. About 20 percent of copies of each issue flow to Whole Foods customers in Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill. These sites are restocked at least weekly between publication dates.

Based on response from readers over nearly 30 years, we estimate that two-thirds of the copies go to readers who actively seek it out on a continuing basis, and the remainder reach readers who are coming in contact with the publication for the first time. We believe that is a mix that serves our clients well.

This distribution system also guarantees that each issue has a long “shelf-life.” Publications are distributed regularly throughout the two-month publication cycle, and the content of each issue encourages readers to keep copies for reference..
