Journeys

Volume 26, No. 5

JOURNEYS: the topic of this issue is a special one—reflecting Health&Healing’s mission and history. What you’ll read are stories about health care providers and their patients—stories that teach us a great deal about the skills, experiences, and passions of the people in our community who help us to heal and guide us to better health.

You’ll also read—in the first article—why this topic is so connected to the publication’s mission. Health&Healing’s journey, which began over 30 years ago, is now embarking on a new chapter. It started with a simple idea: to introduce health care practitioners and the services they provided—through stories. Over the years, that idea has built a web of connections in the Triangle—linking providers to patients and to each other. What we communicate—their stories—hasn’t changed; how we communicate has changed and is changing again. H&H began (pre-Internet!!) in a newspaper format and, as the Internet developed, has added an on-line edition and network connections. Starting with the August edition, it will move entirely on-line—in keeping with the world’s rapidly changing ways of communicating. Enjoy!
